Ashleigh Donnelly - Owner
Ashleigh obtained her diploma in Makeup Artistry from the prestigious Sara Hill, Academy of Makeup, Glasgow. Through the Academy, Ashleigh was able to learn from award winning makeup artists, as well as lead artists from Illamasqua, Hourglass, Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and Giorgio Armani. Taking inspiration from these artists lead Ashleigh to pursue her goals, and open her own business within the bridal makeup industry.
As well as managing her own bridal makeup business, Ashleigh has also had the opportunity to work alongside Wella Hair, providing makeup for their annual "Trend Vision Awards" show in both Glasgow and London.
Ashleigh has been shortlisted as a finalist for multiple prestigious makeup awards, and was crowned "Bridal Makeup Artist Of The Year" from Lux Lifestyle magazine and "Bridal Makeup Specialist of the Year" from the Official Makeup Awards. Ashleigh would like to thank all of her past and present clients who have taken the time to submit a nomination for Ophelia Bridal Makeup. All of the continued support is very much appreciated.
Bridal Makeup Trial:
It is recommended that a bridal makeup trial is organised to take place, roughly 3-6 months before the wedding is due to take place. Ashleigh will begin with a 10 minute consultation to get an idea of the makeup style the bride would like to create. During this consultation, the bride's dress, chosen colours of the day, face shape, and over all theme will be taken in to consideration. This trial will also ensure that any skin sensitivities are noted during the appointment, and it will allow the client the opportunity to discuss any requests or requirements they may have ahead of time. Everything discussed, and the products chosen will be documented, so it is time efficient to carry out on the wedding morning itself, with minimum distractions.
Bridal Party Prep:
Ashleigh's bridal party prep service includes travelling to the bride's location of choice, and re-creating the chosen look from their previous makeup trial. Wedding photos will last a life time, so it is important that the bride feels confident and completely at ease during this time. Should the photographer already be on site, this is the perfect opportunity to snap some natural photographs, whilst the bride and her maids relax during their makeup application.
